Cork is harvested every 9 years from the oak trees by shedding the bark and thus tree lives on for generations. The tree then regenerated the cork and uses more CO2 from the atmosphere, thus helping global warming.

NON SLIP –The yoga mats have a 5mm thick padding of natural rubber which along with giving a good cushion to the knees if held firmly to the ground.
SWEAT ABSORBENT –Cork has many unique properties and being sweat-absorbent is one of them. Being sweat-absorbent also makes sure you don’t slip on the mat while working out or doing yoga.
ANTIMICROBIAL -Cork has a tendency to naturally eliminate bacteria and germs and also repels the growing of molds thanks to its water-resistant attribute.
EASY TO CLEAN –The mat is very robust and easy to clean. Just pour some dilute laundry liquid and brush the stain away. Wipe with a towel and let it dry. The mat dries super quickly.

CORK FACTS

Besides being waterproof, buoyant, elastic, fire-resistant, and unique in its appearance. Cork is a naturally harvested material only from the bark of the cork oak tree. That means we do not cut down the tree just scrape the bark. It is, therefore, one of the most highly renewable and eco-friendly resources.

In fact, cork harvesting can help in the fight against global warming. Wondering how? After the age of twenty, the tree's bark can be harvested for a period of over 200 years. While the cork is growing it captures more CO2 from the atmosphere to aid in the bark regeneration process. This means regularly harvested cork trees store three to five times more CO2 than those left unharvested.
